King Trench route leads from base camp at Quintino Sella glacier (2800 m / 9200 ft) through King Trench to King Col (4100 m /13400 ft). From there through Prospector’s Pass (5500 m / 18000 ft) to the summit plateau with a length of 5 miles. One high camp is necessary on the summit plateau. Altogether on the way to the summit it needs 5 high camps.
The climbing altitude difference (between base camp and summit) is over 3400 m / 11100 ft, at a distance of about 25 km /16 miles. Because of often bad visibility in navigation GPS and wands are necessary and are used.
